Frequently Asked Qustions Regarding the Merger of HALLCO Community Credit Union and Habersham Federal Credit Union
We are excited to announce that as of May 1, 2020, we began the process of merging our two credit unions. This will take several months to complete.
Because providing the very best customer service to our members has always been at the core of both HALLCO and HFCU, we will continue to keep you notified of upcoming changes. Check back for details.
Q. Will the merger affect my HALLCO account?
A. Existing HALLCO members should see no changes to their accounts or banking channels. You will continue to utilize your existing checks, debit card, online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposit, etc. The biggest change is that you will soon have access to 3 additional branch locations for your convenience.
Q. When can I begin utilizing the additional branch locations?
A. We plan to have all HFCU locations set up with access to the HALLCO system by June 1. This means that HALLCO members will be able to utilize HFCU’s branches located in Clarkesville, Homer and Clayton.
Q. I really like the staff at my local HALLCO and Habersham Federal Credit Union branch. Will they be going away now that the merger has taken place?
A. Two of the best aspects of this merger are that all branches will stay open and all staff members will remain in place. HALLCO has branch locations in Gainesville, Oakwood, Flowery Branch and Cleveland, and HFCU has branch locations in Clarkesville, Homer and Clayton.
Q. Will the name of my credit union change?
A. Our name will be changing, but you can expect the same great service you’ve come to expect from your credit union. We’re two financially stable credit unions teaming up to become one of the best community-based credit unions the State of Georgia has ever seen for the benefit of our members.
